Summary
All is well in the small town of Berkley until meteors start to fall from the sky. Anyone who comes in contact with the meteors is transformed into a zombie. Soon the infection starts to spread throughout the town as those bitten and killed by zombies become transformed too. A small group of survivors flee to a rural house, but it's swarming with undead. The small party then piles into a van and head for the outskirts of town, but alas they come to a massive, eerie wall that reaches up into the sky. In fact the wall forms an impenetrable circle around the entire infected area. Burning rain starts to fall and they do everything they can to wash it off and stay dry. One of their group briefly turns into a zombie, but then suddenly is struck by a beam of light and is levitated up into the sky. The rest flee back to town to get supplies and plan to escape via airplane, but in the ensuing mayhem they are caught one by one in beams of light. Finally the heroine is confronted by aliens, and it dawns on her that they are here to save them. The process of being doused by the burning rain and lifted to the sky is like purification from the zombie infection. Satisfied that she is the last one left, the aliens depart - the massive wall separates into many ships and disappear in the night sky. But unknown to them, one of the humans escaped in the airplane without being purified and crashes outside the protective perimeter. With the aliens gone, nothing stands in the way of the subsequent zombie infestation!

Review
Definitely a comedy in the mold of Dead Alive with little horror value. Is it cheese? Of course! But it's like fine aged Belgian cheese. The movie seems to be a parody of zombie movies, alien movies, and action movies all in one! But if you like zombie movies, ignore the mainstream critics because this movie has plenty of zombies, gore, and a great assortment of characters. The acting is pretty decent and the movie is definitely a good laugh. This is yet another example of a movie that has substance and style on a moderate budget.

Zombie Traits

Speed 1 (Sloth)
Intelligence 1 (George W)
Strength 2 (Normal)
Zombie Sourcemeteors!

The zombies are really slow, but extremely persistent and resilient.

Best Zombie Kill
Upon coming to some wreckage blocking the road, an old lady gets out of the car to investigate. What appears to be a dazed little girl comes stumbling forward. The old lady goes to comfort her and wham! The zombie punches her in the face, and its fist goes clear through her head! The fist emerges through the back of the old bag's skull, holding big chunk of brain to boot.

Best Zombie Death
The final three survivors try to escape in an airplane, but things get tough when zombies attack. The heroine finds a length of rope and lassos one of the zombies. She gives it a big yank and swings the zombie right into the rotating propeller of an airplane, instantly turning it to a bloody pulp!

Memorable Scene
Marion the gun wielding bad ass fisherman unleashes a matrix style assault on a swarm of zombies invading his house. He gets cornered in the kitchen be three of the undead, but unfortunately for them Marion is sporting a nice set of spurs on his boots! He lunges forward and springs off one of the zombie's backs, does a flip in the air, and lands against the wall above the kitchen door using his spurs to hold him upside down. He shoots the three zombies in the kitchen, then swings under the door frame and pops a few caps in some zombies in the adjoining room.
