Summary
Two SWAT guys, a reporter chick, and her fly boy beau flee a zombie-infested Philadelphia via helicopter to seek refuge. They opt to land on the roof of an abandoned mall and fortify it as their home. In comical fashion they clear the mall of zombies and blockade all the doors with trailers, eventually "disappearing" from the mindless zombie horde outside. But a roving biker gang invades the mall and all hell breaks loose, ultimately forcing the two survivors to flee in the helicopter.
Review
This movie is the ultimate zombie masterpiece, and should serve as a measuring stick for all the posers out there. It blends the horror of a country taken over by a horde of undead with humorous interaction between four people just trying to live among a bunch of idiot zombies.

Best Zombie Kill
When the hooligan bikers invade the mall, Peter and Stephen even the odds by opening up the loading dock where hundreds of zombies await. Several careless marauders become zombie fodder, but the stupidest one decides to take his blood pressure/heart rate (you know, the free chairs you find in malls) right in the midst of several undead! When they attack, he can't get his arm free from the cuff. So the zombies help him out by ripping it off at the shoulder! He doesn't last long, but later we are treated to a shot of his severed arm still being monitored by the machine, with a zero pulse of course.
Best Zombie Death
There are so many zombie deaths in this movie, it's hard to pick just one. So I'll go with the dumbest zombie! Before arriving at the mall, the gang stops at an airfield to refuel the helicopter. One zombie slowly approaches the helicopter, but some boxes are between him and his meal. He clumsily starts to climb over the boxes, and when he stands up the top of his head (and a good chunk of brain!) is taken off by the spinning helicopter blades.
Memorable Scene
At the start of the movie a crazy, racist SWAT guy is blowing everything away in an apartment complex where several occupants have become zombies (even if some of his victims aren't). He opens one apartment door and completely blows off a poor dude's head with his shotgun. The head simply explodes, and it's one of the premier head shots in any zombie movie. It's always nice when a movie gets to the gore early!
